After 24 years with Quickbooks I can not believe they conned me. For my renewal I subscribed to the Quickbooks Essentals for $295/yr. on 8/31/23. 10/6 they charged $683.

If you decide to do so, convert your data to QB Desktop later and use the trial version to access your historical data for good. Then switch to another app and start from scratch to lower your conversion costs.

I have for the second year,  Quickbook online - I can't backup my data - They have it. It's all in their cloud.  I should have known something was up when I couldn't backup my own data.  They got me.

You can use a 3rd party backup restore app or convert your data to QB Desktop as a backup file.

I understand your frustration with not being able to backup your data in QuickBooks Online Essential. However, it's important to note that QuickBooks Online does offer the option to generate a local backup. This feature is available in the Advanced version of QuickBooks Online. If you're using the Essential version, unfortunately, this feature may not be available to you. Before proceeding with the backup process, keep in mind that there may be limitations on what data can be included in the backup.

Check the following that you can't backup:

• QuickBooks Online Payments info
• Customer types and price rules
• Delayed credits and charges (although associated invoices are backed up)
• Recurring transactions
• Bank feeds and their links to transactions and bank rules
• Reconciliation reports
• Account-based billable expenses
• Item-based billable expenses with markup
• Custom reports
• Custom form templates
• Audit log entries
