Any way of defaulting to classic view all the time? Modern view is woefully lacking the accounting info I need.

We recognize you prefer to use the classic view in QuickBooks Online, ebarauskas.

The option of defaulting to the classic view is unavailable. When pulling up the report, you'll have the alternative to click the Switch to the classic view to get back to the old interface.

The recent QuickBooks updates have an unfavorable effect on your account-related work. Consider sending feedback to our product developers about this option. They might consider adding a possibility to default it to the classic view functionality.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Feedback under Profile.
  3. Share your feedback.
  4. Click Next to submit.

I've included a link to learn about the most recent QuickBooks news and features: QuickBooks Blog.

In addition, check out these guides for additional information on managing reports, including how to present them to business associates and include specific data:

Please let me know if you have additional QuickBooks features or enhancement requests. I will be available to assist.

Yes I already am forced to using the switch to "classic view".  It's just a real pain.  There's an old saying "don't fix what isn't broken".  If Intuit is really responsive to users, it would offer the default option of modern or classic views.

Hopefully you can pass this on to your product development people.

Thank you,

Ed

Yes, I am already forced to use 'switch to classic view'.  It's just a real pain.  If Intuit is responsive to users, it would offer the default option of either classic or modern views and let the end users decide which is better for their internal uses.

Please pass this on to your product development people.

Thank you.

I second this - please add an option to default to classic view. Modern View is an eye sore and not suitable for my accounting needs at all. Emphasis on the "at all" part.

My colleagues and I agree! The classic view is better. Also, have you ever tried to export in the "new" view. What a mess in excel, putting in subtotals. The reason I export is to use the information, not to make it look pretty.

I agree with all the rest.  PLEASE give us the option rather than forcing us to use something we don't like.

I agree - who wanted the "new" view and who thought it was a good idea? Please may have the option to select classic as the default

The Feedback method as described above does not work.  Perhaps because it overy loaded with people complaining about the modern view.  Seriously the drill down/click through to see the detail is the one feature that makes QBO the most valuable.  The Modern view does not allow this.  When I double click on a amount I want to see the detail for the period on the report I selected.  Period.   Then I could change the period from the same window if I wanted to see more.   Very great functionality and easy to use, why did you change this?

If Intuit is truly customer focused, you, as 'moderator' should have done this already!

I cannot believe that Intuit has still done nothing to add a option to make classic view the default.  I understand it is an easy click BUT that still takes time away from productivity.

I would not recommend QBO just based on their lack of response to so many people who are expressing and who are not expressing this terrible update.

Does anyone at QB care you are ruining the product? You took a perfectly functional, if clunky, reporting module and made it 10x more difficult to even run a report that isn't made up of your standard fields and now,  based on this, after wasting time trying to figure out how to configure the report the way I need it, it may not return complete results?!?!

Seriously, what's the plan? Is it to run off all your customers. Is one of your C-Suite executives secretly working for a competitor?
