Budgets by Class Reporting

Can you run a Budget Report displays all the Budgets by Class and provides a total? Can you run a similar report showing budget to actual?

Budgets by Class Reporting

I'll show you how to run a Budget vs. Actual report by class in QuickBooks Desktop.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. From the top menu, choose Reports.
  2. Hover your mouse to Budgets & Forecast.
  3. Select Budget vs. Actual report.
  4. Choose the Fiscal year, then click Next.
  5. Select a report layout and click Next.
  6. Hit Finish.
  7. Click the Customize Report button.
  8. Go to the Filters and choose Class.
  9. Hit OK.

Budgets by Class Reporting

This doesn't actually work on Budget vs actual because the Class option is not available. It only shows Accounts under the filter categories.
