Can I add 2023 monthly bank statements to quick book

It's great seeing you here in the Community space, johnagos! Let me chime in on this conversation to provide details about adding your 2023 bank statements to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Yes, you can add your bank statements from the previous year to QuickBooks.  First, make sure to convert the pdf file to CSV file format. Before uploading, ensure to check these things to prevent errors:

  • Remove any zeros (0) from the file and leave those cells blank.
  • Fix any transactions that show numbers in the Description column.
  • Remove the word amount from the Credit or Debit column header. They should only say Credit  and Debit
  • Make sure that all dates follow the same format. We recommend you use the dd/mm/yyyy format.
  • If you’re a Mac user, ensure to save the file as Windows CSV file.
  • Some banks add the day of the week in the Date column (for example, 20/11/2018 TUE). You need to remove the day of the week. To do this, split the date and the day of the week into separate columns.

Here's how to upload your bank statements:

  1. Go to Bank transactions, then select the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
  2. Click the Link account dropdown and hit Upload from file.

  3. By clicking the Drag and drop or select files, select the CSV file on your computer and click Continue.

  6. Select all the transactions you want to import, then click Continue.

  7. Hit Yes, then Done.

Once you're done importing your transactions into QuickBooks, you can now start categorizing your transactions to avoid duplicates.

That'll help you import your bank statements to QuickBooks, johnagos. Let me know if you have other concerns about importing transactions to QBO. The Community is always here to lend a hand at any time.
