I am afraid that is not possible. I've tried it couple of times it cannot be done if the reconciliation is done. You have to undo the reconciliation then re-reconcile using the same information but with the correct ending balance.

Thank you for your reply. How do you undo the reconciliation? That's what I cannot figure out.

You to have an accountant's access to do that or if you have an accountant added to your QuickBooks, you can have them undo the reconciliation for you.

I'm here to help you fix the ending balance, emily95.

I agree with, shiawasebookkeeping16. You'll need to undo the previous reconciliation so you can enter the correct ending balance.

If you want to unreconcile one transaction at a time, you'll need to reach out to your accountant. Here's how to invite your accountant:

  1. From the Gear icon, select Manage Users.
  2. Go to the Accounting firms tab, and click the Invite button.
  3. Enter the accountant's information.
  4. Click Save.

You may share this article with them as guidance in undoing the reconciliation: Undo your client's reconciliation.

If you prefer to do it by yourself, you can follow these steps:

  1. From the Transactions tab, select Chart of accounts.
  2. Locate the account, then click View register.
  3. Review the check column. If the transaction is reconciled, you’ll see an “R.”
  4. Select the box and keep clicking it until it's blank. It removes the transaction from the reconciliation.
  5. Click Save

I've added here an article that will help you in case you encounter reconciliation issues: Fix issues when you're reconciling.
