Can I use a different email template for Recurring Invoices? I'd like recurring annual renewal invoices to have a email message than my default invoice email.

I can't see any option on the Recurring Invoice template to select an invoice / email template.

Hello there, sendow.

 

You have the option to select an Invoice template for a recurring transaction. However, the email message is the same across all templates. If you enter an email message on a template, other templates will update as well.

 

You can use the Message on invoice field of the recurring transaction to have a specific message to your customer. 

 

Here's how to select a template for a recurring transaction:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Recurring Transactions.
  2. If you already created the recurring invoice, click Edit. If not, click New.
  3. At the bottom menu, click Customize.
  4. Select the invoice template or click New style to create a new one. 
  5. Fill out the invoice information and enter your message to the customer under the Message on invoice field. 
  6. Select Save template one done.

Thanks for the prompt reply.  It would be great if QB Online could be enhanced to support different email templates for manual vs recurring invoices.

 

In the meantime, I'll see if I can make our email template generic enough that it can be used for both manual invoices and the recurring annual subscription renewal invoices.
