Can I use a formula in a journal entry?

Hello there, ghleonard.

I would love to assist you in achieving your goal. However, could you please provide me with more details regarding your concern about the formula you want to use for journal entry? It can help us get on the same page and provide accurate resolution.

I'll wait for your reply, or if you have any other questions, please let us know. We're always here to help. Have a great day.

@ghleonard

Yes.  For addition, type 12+34 then <tab>.  For subtraction, type 12-34 then <tab>. For multiplication, type 12*34 then <tab>.  For division, type 12/34 then <tab>.  Use parenthesis if you need to enter a formula with multiple operations.
