Can QBO Data Services assist with undoing all GL #'s associated to accounts with zero data? Incorrect GL numbers were allocated. Making inactive is not desired outcome

I appreciate the additional details, Merlot1.

You have the option to modify or alter the assigned GL numbers for each account listed in your Chart of Accounts. Importantly, this adjustment will not have any impact on existing transactions.

Here's how:

  1. Go back to your Chart of Accounts.
  2. Click the Pencil icon under the New button.
  3. Edit the account or GL numbers in the Number column.
  4. Select Save.

Thank you for the initial response.  Incorrect General Ledger Numbers were allocated during setting up a Chart of Accounts.  The only Account names with transactions are:

- Bank checking, savings and credit card - banking is linked to QBO.

- Opening Balance Equity

- Shareholders Equity and Distributions sub-category (however, no GL number has been allocated to this)

There is currently no transactional data as yet in the company as the CoA needs to be correctly setup first.
