Can you create recurring invoices and print to hardcopy on the invoice date?

I must send hardcopy invoices to my customers but I also would like to have a recurring feature or at least clone the past month invoice.

Can you create recurring invoices and print to hardcopy on the invoice date?

Yes, you can! Creating recurring invoices and printing them with invoice date can be done in QuickBooks Online, jkarnes1. I'll make sure you'll accomplish these tasks.

We can start creating a recurring invoice by going to the Gear icon and pick Recurring transactions under the Lists column. To record a recurring invoice, you can open it. The steps below will guide you through the process.

  1. Go to the Sales menu.
  2. In the Invoices tab, click the Date drop-down arrow and select the date of the past invoice.
  3. Select the invoice and click Edit invoice.
  4. Choose Make recurring  at the bottom.

Then, make a copy by going to the recurring lists.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Recurring transaction and find the invoice you want to copy.
  3. Click the Edit drop-down arrow and select Duplicate.

Finally, you can print an invoice with invoice date by follow these steps.

  1. Still, you go to the Sales menu.
  2. In the Invoices tab, click the Date drop-down arrow and select the invoice you want to print.
  3. Hit the Print or Preview at the bottom part of the invoice.

Can you create recurring invoices and print to hardcopy on the invoice date?

Hi,

I have a number of customers that want a hard copy invoice every month, can quick books do that automatically? or do I have to print the invoices out every month and mail them myself.

I understand quickbook can email invoices monthly, but I need to actually send hard copy to these clients monthly

 Please advise

Can you create recurring invoices and print to hardcopy on the invoice date?

It's good to see you here, J5russo. While QuickBooks Online (QBO) doesn’t support auto-printing invoices, I’ve got some tips and workarounds to help you manage this efficiently.

First and foremost, I encourage you to communicate your thoughts directly with our product development team using the Feedback option in your QBO. They're genuinely interested in hearing your input and highly encourage you to share your requests and suggestions.

Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Open your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon located at the top-right corner of your screen.
  3. Under the Profile section, select Feedback.
  4. Type in your suggestions and then click on Next.

In the meantime, I suggest setting up recurring invoices for your customers and mark as Print later to automate the monthly invoice generation. Although you will still need to print them manually, this approach will save you time.

To set it up, here's how:

  1. Go to the + New button.
  2. Select Invoice and fill in the necessary details.
  3. Save this as a recurring transaction by selecting Make Recurring in the Scheduling category on the right side.
  4. Enable the Mark as a print later and click Monthly under the Repeat section.
  5. Hit on Save template.

Additionally, you can streamline your workflow by printing invoices in batches to increase efficiency.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Sales and select All Sales.
  2. Checkbox all the invoices you want to print.
  3. Filter by transaction type, date, customer, or status.
  4. In the Batch actions dropdown, select  Print.
