Hello QB community, I am a student and developing my understanding of report customization. My question concerns adjusting the position of data within a report column. In excel the data can be centered, left justified, right justified within the cell. It hurts my eyes, okay just my preferential look, to have a lengthy column header with short data and have it not look centered. Yuck.
Is there a way to manipulate the data position within a column for QB Accountant Desktop?
I suppose the alternative to data positioning would be manipulating the header titles to stack upon themselves? Again, like in excel.
Or is it possible to export a report to excel, manipulate the data positioning, then import it back to QB and have it hold the changes?
Thank you for any assistance or answers offered and for being here.

Hello Kenny2schu,
The Alignment or positioning of the report's header can only be changed to Standard, Left, Right, and Centered. You can do it within the report:
You can also make it default through the Preferences page.
Other than that, you can do further customization of the report when exporting it to Excel. Note that these format customization cannot be bring in to QuickBooks. QuickBooks will always use the default set up and works as designed.
Please let us know if you need additional assistance with your reports.
Thank you for the information. It is helpful to know that I get to adapt to the systems' set up and can let go of the question.
Much appreciated!
