This is probably really easy, but somehow the function has changed from Pro 2013 to 2018 Enterprise.
In the past, I could select an account from "Chart of Accounts" and just drill down on it with quickzoom, and it would automatically go into a "detail view" report from start to end date.
Now all I get is a rolled-up view, and I can't drill down to see all the line entries from a specified time period. This is driving me nuts! I searched for almost an hour, and now have to post here.
All I want to do is see ALL the entries for a particular expense account by date range.

I'll show you how to see all your entries in a particular expense account, SATELLITE1.
To do this, let's click the Reports drop-down menu in your Chart of Accounts. From there, we can select QuickReport that will help us view and filter all the transactions in a specific date range.

Retained Earnings is a special account which isn't normally posted to directly, except for annual adjustments in some cases. Does this happen for all of your accounts?
This works for the current year, but how do you access past years' detailed entries? All I see is the Closing Entry and no way to drill down.

I'd like to share some insights about accessing past years' detailed entries.
There are no actual transactions that can be reviewed since only the net profit balances can be transferred from previous years. The transactions that make up the net profit or loss that QuickBooks Online automatically transferred to your Retained Earnings account are all displayed in the Profit and Loss Detail report.

Account Quick Report through Chart of Accounts, desktop version has the best reports.

You'll be glad to know that QuickBooks Online (QBO) also has an Account QuickReport, @Tracy. I'll guide you on how you can get one through your Chart of Accounts so you can manage your financial data accordingly.
To do this, follow these steps:
Once you're on the report's page, you can select the Customize button to focus on the details that matter the most to you.
