QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise doesn't have a built-in report that displays only closed sales orders that have not been invoiced, jbNIS23.
When generating reports, such as the Transaction List by Customer, open sales orders may still appear because the Paid Status filter indicates whether an invoice or payment exists for a transaction, rather than determining whether the sales order itself has been marked as Closed.
The Mark as Closed feature on sales orders indicates that the transaction is no longer active. Since QuickBooks doesn't provide a direct filter for closed sales orders, these transactions don't appear in reports, which primarily focus on open or active items.
To help identify closed sales orders that have not been invoiced, you can manually add a note in the MEMO field to determine these transactions.
Here's how:
- Open the Sales order you want to mark.
- In the MEMO field, add a note such as Closed - Not Invoiced to indicate its status
- Click Save & Close once finished.

Once you've added notes in the MEMO field, you can customize your report to display this information. Please note that this approach doesn't automatically filter out open sales orders from the report.
Here's how:
- Navigate to the Reports menu.
- Select Customers & Receivables and choose Transaction List by Customer.
- Click the Customize Report button.
- In the Display tab, check the Memo field under the COLUMNS section to include it in the report.
- Once completed, click OK.
