In QuickBooks Online (QBO), pulling up a budget vs. actual reports that include detailed information isn't possible.
As a workaround, we can run separate reports, the Transaction List by Customer and the Transaction List by Vendor reports.
Here's how:
Alternatively, we can click the amount from the Actual and Budget column to review the breakdown of the transactions.

As someone who has to review and explain the budget vs. actual variances this should be added as a feature to the budget vs. actual reports. It would be so helpful to click on total revenue or total expenses for the period and get the detailed transactions as well. Please add this to your development list.

I recognize the relevance of the Budget vs. Actual reports to your business. But the option to run a detailed version of it isn't available.
As a workaround, you can run separate reports, the Transaction List by Customer and the Transaction List by Vendor reports, and provide feedback. This will allow you to review the report in a different format and provide any necessary comments.
