Custom Dates for comparison reporting

I work for a restaurant group.  We do our reporting beginning on the first Monday to the last Sunday of a 4-4-5 week quarter.  We also do our year over year comparisons the same way.  (First Monday of the year to last Sunday of the year).  Quickbooks does not seem to allow for this by default.  Yet, I cannot find a way to change the dates.  Frankly, we'd like to make any comparisons we need by being able to customize dates.  I posted about this years ago and found there was not an option and was wondering if anything has changed to allow for more automated flexibilty.  Thank you.

Custom Dates for comparison reporting

Hi Kathleen,

We want to help you with your concern about the report in QuickBooks Desktop. However, we need more information about the specific comparison report to provide the correct resolution and to sort this out.

Can you share with us the name of the report you need help with? This way, we'll be able to check for updates about the reporting. If you could provide some screenshots, it would greatly help.

In the meantime, you can check this article for additional guidance on customizing reports in QuickBooks: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

Please know that you're always welcome to post questions in this space. Have a great day ahead.

Custom Dates for comparison reporting

@kathleen452,

The period on a comparison report cannot be customized to a specific date.

Customizing the dates will only narrow down the dates included, but won't include the remaining days in another period.

Your best option would be to export each year to Excel and paste them into a ready comparison template.

Let us know if this helps.
