When I convert a Quote to a Sales Order in Premier Mfg. 2017 the Custom Field I created for Cycle Time does not show up in field on Sales Order form. I have to select the items, change to something else then re-select the proper item for it to show the contents of the Custom Field.
Why does the Sales Order not populate Custom Fields when auto-created from a Quote?
Glad to see you here in the Community, michaelpmckee.
I'd be happy to help you with populating your custom field from a quote to the sales order in QuickBooks Desktop.
QuickBooks Desktop has the flexibility to customize a standard template, which you can use for all transaction types, or create a custom template for specific transactions. You can customize your sales order template to populate the custom field when converting a quote.
Here's how:
I've attached screenshots to guide you through the steps.

Thanks for the note. I’d already created the form with custom field, so that’s not my problem. The issue is that that field won’t populate when I create the Sales Order from the icon when in the Quote. The data exists, but it’s simply not populating. I have to deselect and re-select the Item when in the Sales Order screen to have it populate. All other fields populate just fine. It’s as if the Custom Field is ignored when the data is parsed over.
Hello michaelpmckee,
Thanks for posting in the Community. I'm here to help figure out why the custom field doesn't show up automatically in QuickBooks Desktop.
We'll need to perform some basic troubleshooting to find out what's causing the problem to exist. Let's try to create a sample file and check if a custom field populates on a sales order.
Here's how:
If you're unable to encounter issues with the sample, it signifies that the problem is only within the regular company file and we need to run Verify/Rebuild data to fix the issue. The tool will help you resolve data integrity issues that the Verify Data finds.
To verify data:
To run rebuild data:

If it also happens to the sample file, we'll need to proceed with repairing the QuickBooks system. You can follow the outlined steps in the article attached below:
I'm a post away if you need further assistance with the custom field. The Community team is on the lookout for your response.
