Detail Transaction Report

I am following up on the issue I am having with the Transaction Detail by Account report and the impact of the date range on the report. I received a nice response form "Heide DC" and was asked to supply screen shots. I have outlined the question/issue, background, and particulars about my Quick Books Desktop environment. Please let me know what you think and ideas to correct the situation.

I look forward to your response! THANK YOU! Tom

Detail Transaction Report

Thanks for getting back, TAyers1257.

The data that is shown on the report depends on your set filters and its reporting period. Since some of the transactions aren't showing even though they should be included, I suggest running the Verify and Rebuild Data utilities to resolve this. Before doing so, ensure that you have the latest release of QuickBooks Desktop installed.

Let me walk you through a seamless process:

To verify, here's how:

  1. Go to Window then select Close All.
  2. From the File menu, select Utilities.
  3. Choose Verify Data.

Once done, you can proceed to rebuild it. Here's how:

  1. Go to FileUtilities, then select Rebuild Data.
  2. QuickBooks will ask you to make a backup before it rebuilds your company file. Follow the on-screen instructions to back up your data.

Check out this article for more details: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm also adding an article here that helps customize any report you generate: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.
