Did anyone else loose the "review and approve" button in the estimate emails? I had this function until this week and now the email offers no way to approve.

When I got quickbooks in February I was able to send estimates to customers from quickbooks online and it would include a button to click that brought the client to the online page they could approve from. Now emails now only send the estimate pdf attached and an html version of the estimate in the email (which is not good looking at all). The only work around I've found is to send my own email with the link to the estimate. Has this changed for anyone else?

We're glad to see you here in the Community, @abaldi-contrasti. I can assist you with enabling the Review and Approve button when sending estimates in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

When creating an estimate, make sure that you select the Modern option in the Design section. It will enable the Review and Approve button when your customers receive estimates.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO company.
  2. Go to the Sales tab and select Create Estimate.
  3. Fill out the required details for the estimate.
  4. Click on the Manage option.
  5. Select the Design dropdown, then tick Modern.
  6. Once everything is ready, click Review and Send.

I've also attached a screenshot for your reference:

After your customer accepts your estimate, you can convert it into an invoice by checking this article: Learn how to convert an estimate into an invoice in QBO.

Please comment below if you need further assistance with estimate emails or have any QuickBooks concerns. Take care always.

I would like to know how to "turn off" the review and approve option for estimates in QBO.

Great to see you here, Rauchelle. I'd love to help you turn off the Review and approve option when sending an estimate.

In QuickBooks Online, the Review and approve option is activated when sending an estimate if you've chosen the Modernized template as the Design. To deactivate it, you'll need to select Other templates or customize the estimate template to fit your business requirements.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to the left menu and click the + New button.
  2. Choose Estimate.
  3. On the Estimate page, click Manage and choose Design.
  4. In the Other templates section, choose the template you want to use or click Add/Edit to create a new estimate template or edit an existing one.
  5. Enter the necessary information on the estimate.
  6. Choose Review and send, then Send estimate.

After that, ask your customer to check the estimate in their email. They shouldn't see the Review and approve option anymore. That's it!

If you have a customer with a recurring estimate or invoice, you can save time by duplicating them. For a step-by-step guide, you can refer to this article: Duplicate an invoice or an estimate in QuickBooks Online.

Leave a comment below if you have any questions, Rauchelle. We're more than happy to answer them for you.
