Does anyone know how to delete the added categories from the new function?

Welcome to the Community space, @getpluggedinelectric. It's a pleasure to have you here. I can help you manage categories and make your list more manageable in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To clarify, are you referring to the feature in QBO that allows you to group products and services into categories? If so, I'd be glad to guide you through the process.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Products & services.
  2. Click the drop-down arrow beside More, then choose Manage categories.  image (124).png
  3. Tap Edit and select Remove.
  4. Hit Yes to confirm.

Once you remove a category, all products associated with it will be uncategorized, and any subcategories will be reassigned to the parent category.

On the other hand, if you need to delete a category from your Chart of Accounts (COA) in the new QuickBooks experience, you can follow the steps below.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts under Your Company.
  3. Find the account you want to delete.
  4. Hit the drop-down arrow beside the View register.
  5. Choose Make Inactive.
  6. Select Yes to confirm the action.

This action removes the account from your COA and other areas, such as the category list. To learn more about this process, and regarding the accounts in your COA that can't be deactivated, edited, or deleted by merging. Refer to this article: Make an account inactive on your chart of accounts in QBO.

Yet, if you're referring to something else, please let me know. I’m always here to ensure the process is as smooth as possible. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any other questions.
