Does QB allow to set up (auto) for the customer to pay credit card fees when paying via debit/credit? The fee passes to the customer if they select that Convenience Fee.

We're unable to automatically charge convenience fees for credit card payments in QuickBooks Online. You'll need to do it manually by adding a new line item on your customer's invoice for the convenience fee.

Here's how:

1. On your invoice transaction, click an empty line below the Product/Service column.
2. Select Add new from the product or service drop-down.
3. Choose Service.
4. Enter the description of the convenience fee on the Name field.
5. Click Save and close.
6. Once done, enter the Rate.
7. Click Save and Close.

You can also record credit card charges directly from the Merchant Services Center. Please check out the Process a Credit Card payment section of this article to know more about the process: Process a Payment in Merchant Service Center.

Having the option to automatically set convenience fees for client's, who prefer to use debit/credit cards as their payment method, is time efficient. I'll personally forward this request to our developers who rolls out product enhancements and updates.

We really need this feature to automatically add that fee to the transaction because I don't always know when they are going to use that option, and there is no way to (after the fact) go back and charge them for this fee.

I'd suggest submitting feedback to our product development team. This way they will get a great chance to know this and may add these feature enhancements in future updates in QBO.

1. Go to the Gear icon.
2. Choose Feedback.
3. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
4. Then, click Next to submit feedback.
