Is is possible to access the Received From field in QBO that you see in the deposit entry? No it is not available in the Deposit detail. While Customer Name is the same as received from when customer name is used it skips all the SPLIT deposits which is most of what we have. This basic stuff and was fully available in QBDT. Whats the deal QB?
Hello there, @bmcc1200.
I am here to provide steps that can help you access your received from field and split deposits.
Currently, QuickBooks does not have a report that displays both the received form and the customer's name with the split deposit. However, I can provide you with steps to separately view the customer's name and split the deposit.
In order to view the customer's name, you will need to run a Deposit Detail report. To view the split deposits, run a Transaction Detail by Account report.
Here's how to run a Deposit Detail report:
Also, here's how to run a Transaction Detail by Account report:
You can also customize and consolidate the Deposit Details and Transaction Details by Account Reports to view the split deposits and the customer's name.

Please ask your manager for a raise, because for 3 weeks I have been asking this question by several means both in the community and searching on line and using QBO help and you are the ONLY one to come up with Transactions by Account Detail and that is exactly what is needed not only for my need, but I can see that as the base for many types of reports that Excel can morp into something not yet offer by the QBO reports. Thank you and I give you 100 badge stars!!
On behalf of my colleague, you're very welcome, @bmcc1200.
Please feel free to reach out to the QuickBooks Community any time you need a helping hand. Take care!
I may have spoken too soon. What I thought was working was still not showing splits. Neither Transactions by Account Details nor Transactions by Split details shows the splits broken out. Note:
When broken out looks like the attached file
How do I do this? Even if its in two parts where individual amounts are one report and the splits WITH NAMES and AMOUNTS are another report?
I appreciate you getting back to this thread with detailed information, bmcc1200. I'm here to share additional insights to allow the Receive From field, Splits, and amounts to show in one report. This way, you can keep track of each transaction with a specific account linked to it.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), every report has unique filters. Customizing to more detailed information can be made possible to allow specific details to appear in one setup. The Received From field entered from a deposit entry will reflect as Customer or Vendor separately on the report.
Thus, I suggest running the Transaction Detail by Account report to enable individual and split deposits with specific names/amounts to show when setting up this data. To do this:

Moreover, I'm sharing this handy resource to help you save its current customization settings on your reports: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.
I'll make sure to get back into this thread for any added questions when running reports to track deposits in your account. Just let me know, so I can further assist. Keep safe!
