I'm working with a set of books with 4045 transactions of which 24 of them share duplicate transaction numbers (even with completely different transaction types. It is confusing for my reporting needs, and makes me wonder why and how QB is assigning them this way. I actually export everything to a database using QBFC and can examine the actual transaction ids, which are unique as expected. It concerns me because I don't know why its happening and if I am doing something wrong which can cause errors and certainly makes it so i can't search on Transaction number correctly. The screenshot below shows some of the transactions as they appear in QB, the below table shows how they match up to the transaction id within the data...doesn't seem to be any pattern.
Any ideas and any way i can correct this so I can have clean data?
