Error importing IIF File

Hi there, @mgolabchi.

Thank you for posting in the Community. I'd be glad to help walk you through in importing General Journal Entries in QuickBooks.

You can import the Journal Entries (JE)  from your previous software to your company file as a .QBJ file. Let me show you how:

  1. From the File menu, select Utilities.
  2. Choose Import, then select General Journal Entries.
  3. Choose the .QBJ file you downloaded and saved on your computer.
  4. (Optional) On the Add General Journal Entries to Your File window, select each Journal Entry to review the details. If there is a Journal Entry you don't want to import, remove the check mark next to it.
  5. Select Add GJEs.
  6. On the GJEs Import Summary window, select OK.

I've attached some articles about importing data into QuickBooks for additional reference:

This information should help you to import JE to your file. Please let me know if you have other concerns about importing them in QuickBooks. I'll be around to help. Wishing you and your business success.

One way to create an IIF file is to start with an Excel worksheet and use our BRC IIF Transaction Creator Pro  to create an IIF file for import.  It can help you create Journals and most other types of transactions for import.
