why can't they make excel 2019 work?
Why can't this be fixed. I actually had to purchase and load an older version of excel for this to work!
This is really unacceptable. We just upgraded to Excel 2019 - in January of 2020 - and I notice that the incompatibility with QuickBooks has been an ongoing issue. We have been QuickBooks Desktop users for a very long time, and I have dozens of clients on it as well. QuickBooks Online does not work for most of our clients because we are in a rural area and the internet service stinks. Furthermore, QBO is an inferior product to the Desktop version. Intuit really needs to fix this issue so we - your loyal customers and biggest drivers of your sales - can serve our clients! When will this be fixed?
We don't want you to feel that way, JamesBCPA.
Our product engineers are still working to resolve this error. I recommend contacting our QuickBooks support so you will be added to the list of affected users. You can provide the investigation number so they can classify your concern, INV-24874.
We appreciate your understanding on this matter.
The issue seems to be that QB won't work with the 64bit version of desktop office 2019. I had to uninstall my 64 bit version of office and install the 32 bit version. After the 32bit version was installed the programs once again talked to each other in terms of the ability to export reports. I am running QB 2020, 2019 & 2018.
The "refresh a report" function is still not there. There is no QB Add-in tab in excel 2019. I guess I am going to have to grit my teeth and learn statement writer. I hope that works. However, this is a nice to have not a need to have function for me.
Beware. The switch off from 64 to 32 bit office did not go smooth. The 64 bit version didn't let go completely so when I tried to install the 32 bit version it said the 64 bit version was still there. Trip down to the Microsoft store. Thank God I had moved my business to Laptop. The techs there had flash drives full of special "tools" so apparently the uninstall of 64 to move to 32 is a known issue. Two different techs worked on the issue for about 3.5 hours without success. They had to escalate the issue and a senior techie remoted in the next day. She worked on the issue for about an hour and was able to get the 32 bit program up and running. Fortunately, Microsoft does not charge for this service which I was elated to discover.
Intuit - are you ever going to follow thru with your promise for Excel 2019 support for QB Pro 2019? Its been more than a year that you've been saying its in development. Most of the Office versions you say are supported are no longer supported by Microsoft so you are recommending users use non-secure software which is appealing for a financial services company.
Is QB Pro 2020 even support Excel 2019? Your marketing documents allude that it does but many forum posts say that it doesn't. I bought QB Pro 2019 because I was told that Excel 2019 support was eminent and that was over a year ago so I'm not buying anymore Intuit products until you follow thru with your promises. I hope the community follows suit.
The lack of this support costs me and many of my fellow users hours of lost productivity per week.
Intuit - I implore you to support your loyal community before you lose us! I know I'm close to finding an alternative and will move my dozens of clients as well.
Now its August 2020 and Intuit still doesn't support Excel 2019 - this is ridiculous.
Excel 2013 is no longer supported by Microsoft and Microsoft is scheduled to end mainstream support for Excel 2016 on October 13, 2020 so Intuit is expecting us to use unsecure versions of Excel for our financial data - COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.

Any idea if this will ever get fixed?
I suppose that's a "No," tsharpton.
It is now August 2023. Is Microsoft Office Pro 2019 (Excel) compatible with Quickbooks Enterprise Gold Edition 23.0 (desktop version)?
I've got updates to share about the Microsoft Office 2019 compatibility with QuickBooks Desktop 2023, pcadovec.
Yes, Microsoft Office 2019 is working and compatible with your desktop enterprise 2023 version. As QuickBooks continues to integrate with hundreds of other apps, Office 2013, 2016, 2019, and 2021 have its support compatibility to perform with the QuickBooks program. Also, you'll need to ensure your Excel 2019 has its latest updates to rectify possible errors in the future. Thus, you'll want to visit this guide for more detailed information: System Requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2023.
Moreover, QuickBooks provides the functionality to help you import and export MS Excel files to your desktop program when uploading or downloading various lists and other transaction types.
We appreciate your understanding as we've worked towards improving your desktop experience, pcadovec. We'll keep this thread open for any additional queries you may have about the Microsoft Excel compatibility. Please leave a reply in the comments below. Keep safe!
I don't have QB Enterprise 2023. I have QB Desktop 2023 Premier.
Everything is up to date and QB will not export. I can export to CSV but not to excel. I have uninstalled and reinstalled QB.
Unless there was just some brand spanking new update to rectify this sad state of affairs, you have provided no new information!
Thanks for reaching out to the Community, ShortStuff.
I'm eager to assist you, but I require additional information regarding your query. Could you kindly share more details about the specific issue you're encountering when exporting data to Excel? Were there any error messages displayed?
Any additional info or a screenshot of the interface will be greatly appreciated. We are looking forward to your reply.
