As with others I was forced to move to Online, though I greatly dislike the business model of subscriptions unfortunately there is no option these days.
Long story short the migration was terrible as there were a tremendous number of incorrect transactions, duplicates...... that were brought into the online system. This would not have been so bad if the software was able to move quickly. We are in our 3rd month and it is getting worse not better as the further we dig into reports the slower it gets.
We are REALLY struggling with the following:
1. The software, both Online and the Desktop app are INCREDIBLY slow, between clicks is often 5-10 Seconds of watching the green dots spinning on the loading screen. I have tried Private mode in the browser, cleared cache, service at all our location is full Gigabit speeds nothing that found in the guides offered any help. I will say the the online browser is better than the Desktop App but the flow of the App is much more intuitive.
There are a number of things that are terrible to navigate due to the slow speeds. At this point I would be willing to pay an extreme amount to correct this as the product is currently costing tremendous amount of time for our company.
I understand your situation, @LEMotorsports. Transitioning to an online system can present challenges, particularly when hurdles during migration and performance issues occur.
Improving loading times and navigation could greatly enhance your workflow and efficiency. These aspects would save valuable time and help your business operate more smoothly, ultimately leading to greater productivity.
On the other hand, QuickBooks Online (QBO) is expected to load frequently used pages in about 10 seconds. However, this can vary based on your operating system, device processing power, available RAM, and internet bandwidth.
To check if your browser meets the requirements, you can run a Google Speed Test to measure your internet speed. For more information, here's an article: Why is my QuickBooks Online slow?
Additionally, the interest can be added before you start reconciliation. See screenshot below:
Also, since you have a request for additional features in QBO, let's submit those ideas to our product engineers. That way, they will review your suggestion and consider it for future updates.
Here's how:
Additionally, categorizing online bank transactions is crucial for effective financial management. It enhances clarity, improves budgeting, aids in tax preparations, and ultimately facilitates informed financial decisions that support your business's long-term financial health.
Thank you for sharing your concerns with us about loading times in QBO, @LEMotorsports. We're here to support you throughout this transition and ensure you have the tools needed to succeed. Please feel free to reach out if you need any further assistance.
@LE Motorsports Quickbooks online is one of the slowest programs you will use since 2010. It is not getting better. Those of us who have been using it for a while can categorically tell you that it getting SLOWER.
Notice that @Jeff_S below said that Quickbooks online is estimated to take 10 SECONDS to load frequently used pages. TEN SECONDS IN 2025. The average website aims to load a page in UNDER ONE SECOND. This is how out of touch Quickbooks is.
@LE Motorsports it's the beginning of the year and it cannot be overstated how imperative it is that you look into other options for your accounting needs. The amount of time it will save you in the long run is invaluable. Just take two minutes to scroll through the most popular threads on this message board and you will quickly see how the most basic features either don't exist in Quickbooks online or have been removed without warning. Customer feedback shows that the the product is becoming unusable.
After the forced "New Invoice Layout" debacle last year that we're still suffering from, my team saw all but one business migrate to different software. They are out there. Freshbooks, Wave, Xero, Zoho, Sage, Square.... you can absolutely find something cheaper and better for your needs.
The Reconciliation feature is Bugged for all the accounts that we have connected to our financial institutions allowing for transaction imports. All that I get on my side is Beginning Balance / Statement Ending Balance / Statement Ending Date.
Our services at it's slowest runs 400mbs Up and Down so the internet is no issues. Our hardware is grossly oversized, due to other program requirements, and we are using your desktop app so the browser should be no issue. It is certainly a massive issue with the long lead-times, 10sec loading can only be attributed to a bottleneck at the source. Our end of year reconciliations & reviews are going to take an absurdly long amount of time.
We are a small business, a few employees and total sales less than $1M / Year and it is not designed for heavier usage. The new software certainly seems slated for for the hobbyist.
@Jeff_S RE: Transitioning to an online system can present challenges, particularly when hurdles during migration and performance issues occur.
I am here to help. It is my primary goal. Kindly allow me reword that for you to be more accurate:
Transitioning to an online system can present challenges, particularly when transitioning from QuickBooks Desktop - the real QuickBooks - to the weak and lame QuickBooks Online, which continues to create hurdles during migration after 15 years of getting it wrong and not fixing it, and because QuickBooks Online is such a slow pig.
There, isn't that better?
