Forwarding Email receipts

Our company just started with QB online. I'm trying to forward email receipts but I keep getting a reply saying that this email address is not registered for forwarding email receipts. However, I'm using the same email address that I signed in with. When I look at the help page and try to click on the link listed to take me to authorize my email address, it says "We're sorry. We can't find the page you requested." I'm lost.

Forwarding Email receipts

Welcome to the Community, @GCMAC.

I'd be glad to help you resolve this so you can start forwarding email receipts in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In QBO, you need to create a custom email address to forward images of receipts and bills, which is different from the email address you used to sign in.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the left navigation panel and select Bookkeeping, and then Transactions.
  2. Select Receipts, then click Forward from email.
  3. In the Enter email address field, create a customized email address. It'll have to @qbodocs.com at the end.
  4. When you're done, select Next.
  5. Double-check the email, and then select Looks Good.
  6. Select Done.

For more detailed information, refer to this article: Email receipts and bills.

I'll also add this article to guide you through the several ways to add receipts: Upload your receipts to QBO.

Let me know if you have other questions or concerns about forwarding email receipts. I'll be around to provide further assistance to you.

Forwarding Email receipts

Thank you. Unfortunately, as I'm new to QB I don't know how to navigate the site. I don't see any panel with transactions. I've looked all over the site and don't see anything as such. I'm on a macbook. I even downloaded the desktop app but still don't see anything that says transactions. When I log in it takes me to our company's report page. When I log onto the app it just asks me if I want to scan a receipt. But again, no panel with transactions.

Thank you for getting us back, @GCMAC. I'm here to provide you with additional information regarding your email receipts.

Before you can forward email receipts, your company admin must add you as an Authorized User to access their account.

Here's how your company admin adds you:

  1. Go to Bookkeeping then Transactions then select Receipts. Or Bank transactions and choose Receipts.
  2. Select Manage Forwarding email.
  3. Turn on the toggle for the users you want to give permission to forward receipts. If users haven't set up yet, choose Add new user. They should accept the invitation.
  4. Once done, hit Close.

Furthermore, I've added this article to learn how to manage and categorize your transactions:

Feel free to respond to this post if you have more concerns regarding the forwarding email receipts. Stay safe!
