Hi there,adallos.

You might be using the progress invoicing feature that’s why you’re getting error when converting the estimate into invoice. Here’s how to check this:

  1. Click the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select Accounts and Settings.
  3. Choose Sales from the left menu.
  4. Go to Progress Invoicing section.

You can turn it off if you’d like, just click the pencil icon to switch. Let us know if you have other concerns or if you need further assistance while working with QuickBooks.

Great!  Thanks very much, I turned off progress billing and it solved the problem.  However it brought up another question... how is the progress billing feature then supposed to work when there is an estimate for the work?

Hello adallos,

Previously, we've received reports regarding an error when converting estimates to invoices. Though, this issue has already been resolved, our engineers provided a workaround.

  1. Turn off the Progress Invoicing feature.
  2. Log off from your account and log back in.
  3. Turn on the Progress Invoicing feature again.

In continuation of MikiD's answer, you can follow steps 2 and 3. Then, try converting estimates to invoices again.

If you encounter the same problem, I'd recommend reaching out to our QuickBooks Customer Care Team. They'll be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps to get this fixed.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Hi Eg7,

You'll want to log in using a web browser to see if you're getting the same error message. If so, you can follow the steps on how to turn off the progress invoicing mentioned by @JamesDuanT.

However, if you're only seeing the error in your mobile app, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to refresh your application's compatibility and prevent this error.

  • Restart your phone and launch again the app.
  • Update your phone's operating system.
  • Uninstall/Reinstall the app.
