Not many like it. But QB doesn't care what we think, say or want.
Hello everyone.
I can see how the new invoice layout affects your experience when creating transactions, as working with the interface we got used to is indeed more convenient. Let me discuss some details regarding the recent invoice updates in QuickBooks Online.
QuickBooks ensures that the product meets different business needs to improve productivity, which is why customers have been migrated to the new invoicing experience. However, you can switch to the old layout until the 6th of May 2024 if you have QuickBooks Plus or Advanced. Let me guide you on how.
Meanwhile, this option is no longer available for QuickBooks Simple Start and Essential users.
Moreover, you can get acquainted with these invoice updates to get the most out of your experience by reviewing this article: See what’s new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.
On the other hand, consider scanning this material once you want to improve your sales forms to further enhance business communication: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

@KimberlyS RE: QuickBooks ensures that the product meets different business needs, which can improve productivity. Hence, customers are rolled out to the new invoicing experience.
Based on feedback here your assertion is patently false. The old invoices met the needs of many customers whose needs are no longer met with the new ones. This ought to be obvious given that the new invoices are stripped of a long list of useful features compared to the old ones.
Also, your post is a word salad. Customers are not rolled out. The new invoices are rolled out.
RE: The option to switch to the old layout is only available for QuickBooks Plus or Advanced users and unavailable for Simple Start and Essentials users.
And so Intuit makes it obvious that in fact it does know that the new invoices are not acceptable to many customers, and do not make things better - do not "meet different business needs" or "improve productivity".
So if you have Quickbooks Essentials you would have to upgrade to Plus in order to go back to the original layout??
@faith-cooper We use Plus, here. We received an email that it was changing to the "new" invoice B.S, come mid May. We ALL are being FORCED to use it.
I understand the importance of having the ability to switch to the old invoice layout, Faith. Allow me to provide additional insights about this matter.
Starting May 6, 2024, all Plus and Advanced users will be moved to the new interface with no option to change back to the previous experience. All users will be on the new invoicing experience before the end of May.

@CharleneMaeF RE: Having the ability to switch to the old invoice layout is a great functionality, Faith... Starting May 6, 2024, all Plus and Advanced users will be moved to the new interface with no option to change back to the previous experience.
So, let me get this straight:
Customer: ~I don't want to use the new invoice layout because it sucks.
Intuit: Yes, it's just great that you can change back to the old format! And, even though it's great functionality to be able to do that, we're turning it off in six days. Then you will be forced to use the new format that you don't like and that doesn't work for you.
Do you understand how you come across when you respond like this? Sheesh.
A few months ago I upgraded by subscription for the SOLE PURPOSE of returning to the old invoice format. PAYING over double what I was paying before. And I was ok with it because the time saving from returning to the old format was worth it. I log in to do invoices this month and I am back to new format and cannot figure out how to with back and I am mad! I joined a "Chat with us chat" and the person I was chatting with just "left the chat" for absolutely no reason. What the hell quickbooks!
I can see the convenience of utilizing customer invoices in the old layout experience and your efforts in reaching out to our support team, dfgstables.
As shared by colleagues above, reverting to the Classic invoice layout will no longer be available for new and existing users in any QuickBooks Online versions starting May 2, 2024.
If you want to include specific features on the new invoices, you can send your ideas directly to our product developers so they can include your suggestions in future product updates. Let me guide you through the steps:
Moreover, I've included this reference to help you track and receive customer-paid invoices in your account: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.
I'll be on this thread anytime you need additional assistance managing customer invoices in your account. Keep safe.
I guess I will downgrade my subscription back to essential. No reason to have this expensive version if you deleted the only reason I upgraded
It's been half a year since the "new invoice layout" was forced on all customers and it's still an awful mess.
Even today, our team is asking about the old layout.
