How can I see which transactions are documented properly with an attachment and which transactions are still in need of an attachment? Is there a report I can pull?

Just wanted to ask if there's been any further development on this matter for Quickbooks Desktop as I am also a user that would like a report to see what's missing attachments. Even a column under vendor center as vendor information would help.

Hello, Union Treasurer.

Currently, we're still unable to sort out a report that shows transactions with or without attachments. As a work around, you can follow my collegues AlexV shared post above.

Meanwhile, feel free to read this article and FAQs to learn more about QuickBooks Document Center: FAQs and common issues.. This way, you'll have an overview of how to manage your attachments in the future.

Moreover, consider checking out this help article in case you've got other QuickBooks concerns, such as setting up online banking, running reports and reconciliation, managing income and expenses, employees and payroll taxes, setting up inventories and projects, etc. to keep your business up and running smoothly.

Leave a comment below if you need any help. I'm around to back you up. Have a splendid day and take care!

I too have the need to run a report that will indicate which transactions have attachments and which do not. It seems that QB is trying to force users to go to the Online version rather than using the Desktop version. In working with accountants, I have found that our local ones prefer the desktop version as well. QB is basically a huge database. I am not a computer genius but I do work a lot with tables and it seems that the attachment "table"/document center, is a field in each record and should be accessible to the reports. Just seems logical to me. But then I am just a government employee and not a QB guru. Any idea if this will ever be addressed for those of us who choose to stick with the desktop version? This is much like the issue where you can no longer scan directly into QB and have to either scan to desktop or snap a picture on a mobile which are both undesirable actions in our field.

Hi rlittleton,

To have the option to run a report that will filter transactions with attachments from without is a great feature.

As of now, this report is still unavailable. That said, I'd suggest sending Feedback to our Developer's team. Go to the Help menu, select Send Feedback Online, then Product Suggestion.

While I'm unable to transmit when it will be available, our workaround would be to open the transactions manually. The number on the Attach file button determines the number of attachments the transactions have.

You can always go to the Company menu, select Documents, and then Doc Center to see all your attachments.

I added this link that answers the common questions about Doc Center: QuickBooks Document Center: FAQs and common issues.

I'm just around the forum if you have concerns about managing the Doc Center page.

Hello there, Susan. We are always excited to assist you with any QuickBooks concerns.

To help you effectively, please clarify what specific assistance you require with the document's attachments in QuickBooks. Is the see more option you mentioned an actual button? Or you're referring to something else. Any additional information is much appreciated. A screenshot would also be helpful.

In the meantime, this article will give you an overview of how to handle your attachments moving forward. Feel free to check this out: QuickBooks Document Center FAQs.
