Hello, @tom11.
I've got some options that can help you get an online customer approval system set up for your Estimates in QBO. While the ability for a customer to approve these transactions isn't currently available, it's an often-requested feature that we hear a lot. Rest assured, I'll be sending a feature request up to our Development Team for consideration. All it takes is a voice like your own to make the changes we all want to see in QuickBooks Online.
In the meantime, I have a great news: QBO has thousands of supported third-party apps that serve a multitude of purposes, and it looks like several offer platforms for customer-approving Estimates. Just head to the QuickBooks App Center and search for a keyword like Estimates to get started.
Please know you can always reach me here should you need any help with QuickBooks, I want to ensure your success. Thanks for coming to the Community and take care.
I'm surprised that this featured isn't requested more often. I'd also like to add that if this does come to fruition, that this be a trigger that is available in the API/Zapier.
i.e. if a client views an estimate online and accepts it or rejects it, I can have a workflow in Zapier to process that.
Hi there, kim_lgc.
Thanks for getting this to my attention. I'll personally send this product suggestion to our development team that you'd like this feature.
Reach out to the Community space if you have other concerns.
A button to approve estimates online is highly needed. I hope this is currently in development for QBO

It appears this was posted over a year ago. Has this feature been added as I can't seem to find a resolution. An approval button for estimates seems basic for this day and age.
You need a 3rd party app to do so. Once the customer approved your Estimate, the app will generate and send the invoice automatically.
Absolutely. Having a button to accept estimate online should be a TO DO for quickbook. Definitely extremely useful and time saver for an entrepreneur.....
I had this simple feature in my previous estimate tool, and I loved it !
Please add this feature !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What was the name of your Estimate tool? We may find a connector to sync it with QBO. Otherwise you may have one app to do so as I mentioned earlier.
It's harvest....
https://blog.getharvest.com/2014/04/connect-harvest-with-quickbooks-online-for-invoicing/
But i don't use this tool anymore so it's not a question of sync....
Hey 2022 here (almost 2023). Did this ever get a resolution because my team can't figure out how to get an estimate approved.
Thanks
Use a 3rd party app as a workaround.
Hi there, @awolff1.
I understand that the ability to approve estimates online would be of great help to you and your business. However, it's still unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'll be sending this product suggestion to our development team.
You can also send your feedback to our product engineers.
Here's how:
Please feel free to visit Customer Feedback for any updates and new features added to QuickBooks.
I've also added an article you can read through about the new updates of estimates and invoices in QBO: See what's new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online
You can always go back to this thread whenever you have any other concerns about your estimates. Be safe!
Will do and thanks for the response.
We will be searching for something other than quickbooks. A little ridiculous this problem has been out there for 3+ years and not been resolved. I'm not paying for a third party ap when I am already paying the top tier of quickbooks.
Thanks,
Andy

Another accounting app offers this as their standard feature. Purchase a 3rd party service to convert your data if required.
How has this conversation been going on since 2018? This is extremely disappointing. I wonder if QuickBooks has even sent this to product development over the last several years. Seems to obvious and so necessary...
I guess I'll figure out a third party app but that is a rather idiotic suggestion for something QuickBooks should have implemented in 2018 when it said it was going to product development.
Okay then, please tell me one more time you're going to send this to product development...
I hear your sentiments, @JTMartin. Know that this isn't the experience we want you to have while using the service.
I can see how the feature to approve estimates online would be helpful for you. However, this isn't available in QBO at the moment. In the meantime, it's best to put your suggestions and feedback regarding this option with our product developer. Here's how to send feedback:
Our product engineers will consider your suggestions, and you can always check the status of your request through this link: QuickBooks Online Customer Feedback.
You may visit this article to learn how to add estimates to your progressive invoices in QuickBooks Online: Add project estimate summaries to a progress invoice in QuickBooks Online.
The Community always welcomes you for further inquiries. Have a great day ahead!
See attachment to screenshot of help page. Could you please explain what that second paragraph means under the header "Get estimates approved faster."
Unless I'm pretty dense it seems like what that paragraph is describing is exactly what I'm looking to do but it doesn't seem like there's an actual way to do it and help/support doesn't know anything about it?
Please elaborate.
Have you heard any update on this? Super irritating that this is a feature that they say they have but don't know how to turn it on.
Hi,
Has Quickbooks developed the ability for a customer to approve an estimate yet? I saw the above response from 2018 but I haven't seen the option on the invoices I am sending out.
Thanks,
Hello Zeb,
I appreciate you for dropping by here in the Community space. Allow me to chime in and clarify things about creating estimates in QuickBooks Online.
There's a new layout for the estimates, which allows customers to approve an estimate via email. However, the feature is still unavailable to old users using the old layout.
You can only switch to the new feature if the option is available when creating an estimate. Here's how:
You may have to wait for the full release if the option is unavailable. We'll provide updates as soon as possible.
Also, there are features currently unavailable in the new experience for estimates and invoices. For more information about the limitations, check out this link: See what’s new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.
Please let me know if you need anything else regarding the features in QuickBooks, like creating estimates and other transactions. The Community and I will be here to help you.
