I appreciate taking the time to get back here, sezgin.
I'll share some information about the programs. QuickBooks Online and Shoeboxed both have the capability to capture, save, and categorize receipts to be ready for tax time.
You can compare the features by clicking these links:
If you already have a subscription for Shoeboxed, you can integrate the app with your QuickBooks Online. I'd recommend reaching out to Shoeboxed support for the steps.
To clarify your question about quitting QuickBooks Online, are you referring to canceling the service? If you are, you will not lose the receipts if they are already added to the account. After canceling the service, you will have read-only access to your data for a year. Then, the information will be deleted.

Both ways will work, sezgin.
If you mean by shoebox is the app icon on the Receipts page both ways will work. This app icon lets you review the receipts you've uploaded through your QuickBooks Online application.
However, if you've saved receipts on your computer, then you'll have to use the browse to upload option on the Receipts page.
You can browse this article for more information about the receipts forwarding feature: Capture and categorize receipts and bills.

@Adrian_A thanks for your fast reply. I am just wondering the best practice. what happens if I quit the quickbooks am I going to lose all my receipts?
and quickbooks also has scan feature for receipts, Do you suggest 3rd party apps to be more organized or quickbooks is all we need when it comes to saving receipts?
