Hello, I'd like to send a recurring invoice to a customer, but need to make the description on each invoice slightly different. Is there a way I can do that?

Welcome to the Community! I'd be more happy to help you find a way to change the description different on each recurring invoice. 

 

Yes, you can do this action to recurring invoices. However, before they send out each time, you'll need to edit the recurring template with the new description you want.

I don't think this is the right solution. If I have to change the template every time before it sends, it defeats the purpose of automatic invoices.

I understand how beneficial this would be to your business. My colleague is correct about editing the template when making slight changes to it. Also, we'd like to assist you with this further to seamlessly use the feature without editing this from time to time.

 

Furthermore, we value your feedback and are constantly working to improve the program features that our customers can use with QuickBooks. That said, I would advise sending this recommendation straight to our product development team. As a result, they may assess and decide what features to include for further product improvements. Here’s how:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter a brief description of your product suggestion.
  4. Click Next to submit feedback.

 

Additionally, you can check on the status of your feature request in our Feedback forum since we frequently take your suggestions into account while updating our products. Future improvements are more likely to include this the more requests we receive for it.
