How do I run a P&L by class in quickbooks online

Hello pcvango,

I'd be glad to walk you through pulling up a Profit and Loss by Class report in QuickBooks Online.

First, turn on the class tracking feature by clicking the Gear icon and selecting the Company Settings. Then please follow these steps:

  1. Under Company, click the pencil icon for Categories.
  2. Check the boxes for Track classes and Track locations.
  3. Click Save.

To print the report, you just go to Reports and type Profit and Loss by Class in the search bar.

If you have further questions, please let me know.

How do I run a P&L by class in quickbooks online

My P&L by class report is very wide (many classes) and prints all on one page.  Is there a way to break up the classes so that it prints three or four classes per page the way it does on Quick Books desktop versions? I don't want to have to export it to Excel just to get the report to print to multiple pages, but right now that seems to be the only workaround to this difference between QBO and the desktop version.

You may want to customize and filter the report for specific classes you want.

Run the Profit and Loss by Class report > click "Customize" button > select Filter > select specific Classes from the list > click Run report.

If you need to run this report on a regular basis, click "Save Customization" button. Next time, you will see this under Reports > Custom Reports tab in QBO.

@bbernier

If you have created Class budgeting, when you run the report (left dashboard > reports > select budget vs actual report > under Budget at the top left corner, chose template for Class budget and run the report. See screenshot below.

You can also run Budgets vs. Actuals report directly from budgeting tools.

(Gear > Tools > Budgeting > select Budget in question > Under Action drop-down arrow, select the Budgets vs. Actuals report.

Hope this helps!

How do I run a P&L by class in quickbooks online

I want to generate a report out of Quickbooks that:

  1. Lists all vendors that we purchase from for extraction/manufacturing items; and
  2. Shows total annual spend for each of these vendors (2018, 2019)

Hi there, Rebecasira.

I'm glad to see you here in the Community. Let me help you with the vendor report you need in QuickBooks Online.

You can try running the Expenses by Vendor Summary report to show all vendors and the expenses. Here's how to run the report:

  1. On the left panel, click Reports.
  2. In the search bar, type in Expense and click Expenses by Vendor Summary.
  3. Below Report period, select Custom.
  4. Enter the dates.
  5. Click Customize.
  6. Configure the rows, columns, and filters if needed.
  7. Click Run report.

Please refer to this screenshot:

If there is information unavailable within the report, please know you can also export the data to Excel. From there, you'll be able to customize the QuickBooks data further.

As always, I'm available for any help you may need with the reports. You can get back to me by posting your response down below.
