Welcome to the Community space, @mcallaghan-mersi.

You can set up the customer ID of your customer under the Other field. I'll show you how:

  1. Go to Sales from the left menu.
  2. Click Customers
  3. Look and select the customer's name.
  4. Click the Customer Details tab, and click the Edit button at the middle-right of the window.
  5. Enter the customer ID under the Other column.
  6. Click Save

Once done, you can run the Customer Contact List report and filter it to show the customer ID of your customers. Here's how:

  1. Click Reports on the left menu.
  2. On the search bar, type Customer Contact List.
  3. Click the Gear icon then put a checkmark beside Other.

This is great information, but how do I now get the CustomerID (Other) field of Contact record to show up in a report of sales by customer with a column for CustomerID?

Thanks for joining this thread, BruceHammond. I'm happy to hear Joesem M's post was helpful.

I can certainly understand how a column on Sales by Customer reports for each customer's Other field could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.

You can also submit your own feature requests while signed in.

Here's how:

  1. Use the Gear (⚙️) icon.
  2. Click Feedback.
  3. Enter your suggestions and/or comments.
  4. Press Next.
  5. Hit Skip and send message.
  6. The available drop-down menu can be used to pick an appropriate category.
  7. Select Send message.

Your feedback's definitely valuable to Intuit. It will be reviewed by our Product Development team and considered in future updates. You can stay up-to-date with the latest news about your product by reviewing Intuit's Product Updates webpage.

As a workaround, you can export a copy of your Sales by Customer reports as Excel files, then further customize them in Excel.

I am trying to export the data to excel, but the one field to link the customer I need on a report is the Other field. I do NOT see it when I create a sales report. Am I missing something?
