How can I change an invoice back to estimate?

I wrote out an entire estimate and didn't realize I was using the invoice template. So, I need to send an official estimate to my customer, not and invoice for them to review and sign off before work can start and I don't want to write the whole thing out again as an estimate.

How can I change an invoice back to estimate?

Thanks for visiting the Community today, ridgebackconstru.

I recognize the importance of having the ability to convert an invoice to an estimate. This feature can help save business time.

While converting your invoice to an estimate is currently unavailable, let's sign in to your company using two browsers. Open the invoice and manually copy the items. Then, paste them into the estimate.

This way, you’ll no longer have to enter every detail of the transaction. Once done, I suggest voiding the invoice to keep your records in order.

Here’s how:

  1. Tap the Sales menu on the left panel to choose Invoices.
  2. From the list, find the invoice you’re working on.
  3. Hit the drop-down under the Action column to select Void.dupl.png
  4. Click Yes to confirm the action.

For additional resources, these articles cover all the information on when to remove entries in QBO. Also, you’ll find instructions on how to create another copy for invoices and estimates.

The fact that this facility is not available is ridiculous but tottaly what I expect from Intuit! As for your suggestion to open 2 browsers and cut and past......I shall not even dignify it with a comment!
