Hi, QuickBooks Community!
I am facing a problem. We are basically migrating data from another Cloud based accounting system to QuickBooks online. We just sync data into QuickBooks. I just want to double check sales figure, that's why I run sales monthly report on both systems and download it to double check sales figures and match it, So, nothing should be skipped. Our previous accounting system show All sales by Invoice, But when I comes to QuickBooks it shows sales by product. For example In one invoice we sold 5 items. Previous accounting system show's Invoice number and whole sales figure one time, but QuickBooks shows 5 times Same sales invoice number and sale figures separately by each item. I just want QuickBooks show one invoice number and whole sales figure instead of 5 times separately. So, I double check my sales figures and match my sales on both systems easily. By splitting Sales create much problem for me and difficult to match, as there are huge number of invoices per month. I attach both systems files how they show sales figures. Hope so, my question make sense and expert's give me a solid solution.
Thanks & regards.

Hi Lasa_Accountancy!
I appreciate your effort on the screenshots. I like to jump in and help.
The Invoice list report will actually show the entirety of each transaction including sales tax. They are not split into multiple line items. However, that can be achieved, too, with another report called Sales by Product/Service Detail. Their difference is the latter report doesn't count the sales tax. Please see the comparison in the screenshot below. Particularly, invoice # 1038.
Would you mind running and exporting your Invoice List report to Excel again? You can even customize it. Then, please let me know how it goes.

I'm here to share some information on how QBO populates the invoices.
By default, QuickBooks Online displays invoices with the same transaction number separately. The option to group them into a single data in the report is currently unavailable.
To help easily match and compare your records from your previous accounting software and QBO, I'd recommend exporting the report to an Excel file so you can modify and group the data. Here's how:
Since you're new to QBO, I also encourage checking our Getting Started Guide to help set up your company and learn the product basics.
Keep me posted if you have any other concerns or additional questions. Have a good one.
Sir, I already export data into Excel and try to match it, but it seems not possible. Because other system show's for example 2000 invoices per month and QuickBooks shows 8,000 invoices per month (Because of splitting items, and showing same invoice number repeatedly with each item). So, In that way not possible to match sales figures on both system. The below screenshot is actually taken from excel by exporting data into excel on both systems for matching purpose.

Is there a 'Invoice by Date' report in the QuickBooks desktop version? If not, do you know how to customize a report to show date, customer name and invoice number? Thank you for your time.
Hello there, @dody32.
We can pull up the Transactions List by Customer and filter to Invoice. It will show all your invoices with the Date, Customer Name, and Invoice Number.
Here's how:
