How do I add markup to my cost of products on an estimate on the online version of QuickBooks? The desktop version had a column for mark up via % or amount.

Just switched from Desktop to Online 3 days ago. Trying to do my first quotation using the OnLine. version.....Why is there no "Markup" column? From my research today, QB has been requested multiple times for multiple years to add this.

I was assured that the Online version does everything that my Contractor Desktop did....

# 1 thing you need to remember is that QB lies. Online is a mere shadow of the desktop stuff. The only way you can have an estaitme that has a cost and markup is to open a project and add a "Project Estimate". Now, don't be surprised if you use this Project Estimate, where you assigned these costs to a particular project,a nd then use said estimate to COPY to a Purchase Order and what's this? It copies over the details of the line item, but not the cost, not the ship to, not the project #. I mean, why would you want THAT on a PO?

Also, don't be lulled into a false sense of security when you see all these invitiations to send them comments about issues and features. They go straight into the trash. It's only been 8 or so years since people asked for this to work like it did in desktop. If you haven't finalized your transition to online, RUN. The reports are trash. Keeping track of open jobs is trash. Customization is trash. Sorry. I feel your pain.

Yikes! I switched today and I need the mark ups on the estimate side of things. After searching I see it is a major issue. So that test failed. Nest I went to send a purchase order and it says I need to upgrade. I've been a desktop customer for 15 years, you would think the sales rep might let me in on that did bit that I would have to get the higher plan. I guess without mark ups on estimates it doesn't matter. Back to desktop. At least I didn't cancel that right away. Maybe I should look into another online accounting company and make the hard switch?

That answer does not cut it......there are hundreds of comments about the mark up column and there are still no fixes.  read ALL  the questions about this issue and do something about it instead of telling us to make a comment.

you don't listen to them anyway!!!!!!!

I'm also looking at going back to desktop.  much more user friendly and does not cost as much for this beginner program that I'm using here on line.
