We're currently unable to change the default view of the invoice list. You can, however, sort the date column by pressing the drop-down arrow or select Ascending or Descending in the Invoice List report.
I've got some sample screenshots below for both Invoices window and Invoice List report.

Thank you for your reply. I know how to re-sort, by ascending or descending order. It just seems unnecessary, and is certainly inconvenient, to have to do that every time I want to view my invoices. Please share this feedback so that it can be considered when upgrades are made to the user interface.
Thanks again,

I agree. For me, it's extremely frustrating to reorder the invoice list EACH TIME I open the page. Setting a personal default view should be a given, especially when it's a simple reversal of dates.
Can the development team please look into this. It seems like an easy thing to implement and is currently very frustrating if the DEFAULT view is not the user's preference.
Thanks for your suggestions, @jcds. I understand you want the default view on your invoice.
I'm seeing the benefit of having this option for everyone. I'll share this idea with our engineers for future consideration.

I'm having trouble understanding the logic. in what situation would i need to look at the oldest records first?
I ALWAYS need to see what I'm currently working on....make sense?
Hello!
Having a hard time understanding the logic. In what situation would anyone want the oldest records to appear at the top? 100% of the time, I need to see the most recent record...aka, the ones I'm working on or that are the most relevant to now. Please change this default ASAP...no need for 17 committees to study it...it's just common sense.
I recognize the importance of having timely access to your recent invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO), jongorilla. I can definitely help you with that.
To have a default view of your recent invoices to the oldest ones, you can consider toggling down the Date arrow on the header. Here's how:
