We take some troubleshooting measures to help fix the issue, Stephen. This could be an issue related to your browser.

To begin, let's access your account through your browser's incognito mode. An incognito window will prevent the browser history from being saved. Please refer to the following keyboard shortcuts based on your browser type:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  •

Alternatively, you can clear the browser's cache to eliminate common errors that may hinder the application from working properly. Clearing the cache will reboot the system, allowing you to work with a clean slate. You can also use other supported browsers to see if the issue persists.

In addition, when you generate sales or inventory reports, products and services are organized by category. You can expand or collapse each category to easily locate details for specific items, as categories assist with report organization.

Keep us posted if you have further questions about managing subcategories in QuickBooks Online. I'll be of help. Best regards.

How do I create a new subcategory?

Same problem.  No "MORE" button to choose from.

This seems like the most basic thing to do is to put in a new category or sub category.

Let's do some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue when adding a sub-category in QuickBooks Online, Johnny.

We can let the More option appear on your screen by accessing your account using a private browsing window. It can help us if the issue is related to your browser.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

Furthermore, we can follow other suggested troubleshooting steps provided by my colleague above about clearing the cache and using other supported browsers to resolve the case.

However, if none of these fixes the issue, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They have tools to check the cause. They will also submit a ticket to our engineering team to alert them about the issue if necessary.

I'm just a message away if you need further assistance managing your products and services within QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'm always happy to help you out again.
