Hi @matt105

You can set up the invoice as a recurring transaction:

  1. Select the cog wheel at the upper-right hand of the corner
  2. Under Lists, select Recurring Transactions
  3. Click on green “New” button
  4. Select Invoice as the transaction type and select OK
  5. Name the template. Set the “Type” to Scheduled
  6. Set “Interval” to Daily, and enter 28 for “every _ day(s)”
  7. Enter 5/7/2020 under “Start date”
  8. Select By under “End”. Enter 12/31/2022
  9. Select any options that apply
    1. Automatically send emails
    2. Print later
    3. Include unbilled charges
  10. Fill in the customer info and invoice as normal
  11. Save template

Hope it helps...

I have QB desktop 2020.  How would I do this on mine?  We bill every 28 days and I would love for it to automatically generate.

Hi LYNDALL7.

I'm more than happy to help you set up recurring invoices in your QuickBooks Desktop account. To do so, create an invoice as you normally would, then in the top left corner of the invoice screen you'll see a button called Memorize (CTRL+M.) Click that and it will bring up a new window That window gives you several options on how to create recurring income templates, for what you want, you'll select the Automate Transaction Entry. The next step would be to change the How Often drop-down to Monthly and the Next Date drop-down to your desired date. Once you click OK, Save & Close, that should be all you need.

I'm also including a video tutorial of the above process, The video refers to all things Desktop but specifically how to create recurring invoices at the 8:50 mark.

Welcome back to the Community, LYNDALL7.

I recognize the importance of being able to choose the specific period (28 days) you want to use on the recurring invoice. The functionality to customize the number of days to send on the transaction is unavailable at this time.

Alternatively, you can consider using a third-party software to help achieve this type of customization.

The Apps for QuickBooks Desktop site is a one-stop-shop where you'll find third-party applications that integrate with QuickBooks Desktop.

To narrow down your search, browse the apps per category or type in a keyword in the Search field.
This will display a list of third-party software that matches the information entered on the field box. Click the View Profile menu to see the features and benefits.

To help create and manage repeating transactions, let me share the Create, edit, or delete memorized transactions guide. It provides an overview of how to make a memorized transaction group, edit a recurring entry and steps to delete it.

Also, I invite you to visit the Firm of the Future site to see the latest features rolled out. From there, you’ll see resources that can help run the business efficiently.
