There's an option to edit an invoice in QuickBooks Online. Let me show you the steps:
You may refer to the screenshots below:
Also, you can still edit the email body in the invoice before sending it even though you've already created it.
See the screenshot below:
If you want to learn more about how to set up automatic reminders for your customers, you can check this article: Send invoice reminders automatically or manually in QuickBooks Online.
If you have additional questions or concerns about editing your invoice message or any QBO processes, please let me know. I'd be happy to help you, @KW72
That does not work.
I have changed the "default" invoice - i have tried to edit the invoice in various "screens/options"
for my billing - i duplicate invoices (i invoice customers quarterly)... in the past - editing the context was an option - it is not an option - and im not able to change the default invoice.
I can see that you did everything you could to edit the default email message for your invoice, @KW72. I appreciate you for that.
Occasionally, the data stored in your browser's cache can cause unexpected behavior with the product. With this, I recommend accessing your QBO account through a private or incognito window to verify if cached data is the cause of the issue. To save time, use these keyboard shortcuts:
After signing in, please go to the company settings to see if you can change the default message. If it works, return to your regular browser and clear its cache. If not, consider using a different browser to determine if the problem is specific to the one you're currently using.
Once everything's fine and you've emailed the invoice to your customer, learn how to record their payment using this guide: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

I agree with you..... I use to be able to customize/edit each invoice email memo before I sent it out. I'd change it on the left side of the screen and it would reflect on the right side of the screen. However, after a Quickbooks update, I was no longer able to do this and it is very frustrating! Working off templates is fine for invoices, but the memo for emails needs to be customizable.
I hope someone from Quickbooks responds with an answer that works and/or Quickbooks brings the editing option back.

I hear your sentiments, JJ8888.
I can see that you need to modify each email memo to your specific customers in QuickBooks Online. Allow me to share some insights about this capability within the program.
At this time, the option is still usable from the program. However, it will not automatically update the email preview screen since it is based on the default template. Rest assured, the details from the Email body section will be used to generate the invoice email that your client will receive.
You can use the Email me a copy feature to receive your copy of the emailed invoices to ensure it is the updated one. See the attached screenshot for your reference:
For now, I recommend sending your feedback to our product development team so they can review it and might consider reimplementing it in the future. Here's how:

Hi Kevin_C
Thank you so much for your reply. I am so happy to know that the memo I edit on the left will be included when I email an invoice even though it is not reflected on the right! I just tried it out and it worked! It use to be reflected on the right. Maybe Quickbooks should bring that back in the next update.
I am so glad that I am still able to customize memos I email with invoices.
Thanks again!
Jodi
