Buy nowI am attempting to "Make inactive" a checking account that has been closed, but keep receiving the message: "You can't delete this account as it is used as default for one of the sales lines."
The instructions to "change the account they're linked to" ("they" = Products and services?) and "make products and services that use the account inactive" seem to assume you know which product and/or service is using this checking account "as default." Do I have to click into all 202 to find the one? And what if that's not even the right place to look for whatever is preventing deactivating the checking account? Where else should I be looking?
Thanks for any insight you might have!
Hello there, @CTatCD.
I see that this error has been a challenge for you. Allow me to help you fix this. The account you're trying to make inactive might be linked to one of your product or service items which causes the error.
With this, we'll need to review all your item info to check if the account has become a default in the income account section. If so, we'll need to edit and change it to another account so that it'll be unlinked, and we can proceed in making it inactive.
Here's how to verify the account associated with the item:
Also, you can pull up a Product Service List report and add the income and expense account columns. This way, you don't have to click the 202 transactions.
On the other hand, you can also check your checking register and review each transaction.
I'll also add this article to guide you on how to reconcile your accounts so they will always match your bank and credit card statements: Reconcile an account.

This solution did not work for me, as none of my products' Income Accounts are the checking account I am trying to make inactive. Please let me know if there is another solution.
