Hello there, @Shari.
I understand the importance of inserting a blank line into the invoice in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Let me share an insight about this feature you want to have in your QuickBooks account.
Currently, the option to insert a blank link into an invoice is unavailable. For now, I recommend sending feedback. Your feedback will help us improve your QBO experience and will be shared with our Product Development Team.
Here's how:
For more details about the feedback process, you can check this article: Submit Feedback.
You can also check this to track your request: Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online.
I will also include a helpful article that guides you in receiving and recording invoice payments: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.
Please don't hesitate to leave a comment below, if you have any other concerns about invoices or other QBO-related concerns. I'll be here to assist you.
Thank you, Clark. I have to say that inserting a line in the middle of an invoice/spreadsheet is a minimum basic spreadsheet capability. It makes zero sense that Quickbooks took this option away. I will submit feedback but it is outrageous that I have to.
A basic function that someone on the team of redesigning the format of an invoice and forcing everyone to use it thought it was brilliance to remove this feature. Not everyone's invoices are three or four lines. My invoices can have 90 or more lines at times. I had to delete 40 lines one time just because I could not insert one that was skipped over. QB what are/were you thinking? So unacceptable.
Hi, I just discovered how to insert a row where "you want it" designated:
Click on add product/service - which will add the row on the bottom. Then left click hold on the 6 dots (dots are in a box formation) and drag to where you want the row placed. I hope this helps.
Thank you for your feedback, although it doesn't save that way. Once you go to download it removes any added blank line items.
You have to type the line the bottom of the invoice and drag it up to where you need it, I guess.
