This does not work! Selecting the transaction only shows me the receipt, and offers no other options aside from printing the receipt.

In QuickBooks Online, you can only refund the exact amount your customers pay you. To successfully refund them, you'll have to login into your QuickBooks Payments account. This way, you'll be able to manually type in the exact amount you want to return.
