How do I make the invoice modified by layout designer my default invoice?

Use it on a new invoice.  When you save the invoice it becomes the default to use until you change it again.

Once you've created an invoice template, the next step is to create a new invoice using this template. When you use the new template, Quickbooks will then generate this form for every invoice until you change it again. Here's how you can see your templates:

1. Go to Lists at the top of your QuickBooks account.
2. Choose Templates.
3. A small window will appear with all of the templates you have in your account.
