Actually using the Banks Feed really has nothing to do with making payments. So it doesn't matter that the CC Acct is not connected.
When you made the payment you put in the CC (whomever they say to make the check out to) as the Payee, but what did you put in for the corresponding Acct? Did you put the CC Acct you have in QBO?
It sounds like you may not have (if you didn't, it's really bad that QBO let you continue). So it sounds like you want to select Transfer and choose your CC Acct in QBO.

Yes, that is what I did. Selected "transfer" and entered the CC being paid. Thank you.
