That doesn't work for me, still have a tip line on the invoice. How do I get rid of it? Thanks.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, Mar359.

I'll be happy to assist you with turning off the tip feature on your invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon , then choose Account and settings.
  2. Click Sales.
  3. In Sales form content, press Edit ✎.
  4. Turn Accept tips off.
  5. Click Save, then Done.

However, if the issue persists, we can try to log in with your QBO account using a private browser:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If the tipping line is off when using a private browser, I'd recommend clearing your browser's cache.

If none of these steps works for you, I'd suggest contacting our support team to solve this issue promptly.

Additionally, I've added an article as a reference if you need to personalize and add specific information to your sales forms: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to give us an update or reply to this thread if you need more assistance with your invoices or sales forms. We're always here to assist you.

How do you remove the TIP line from the invoice? I'm not accepting gratuities.

the "Accept Tips" switch is off in my account settings.

If I send an estimate from the desktop ( web interface)

it doesn't have the Tip amount shown by the subtotal, but if I send the estimate with the QBO mobile App (28.7.0+1), the estimate will have a tip line item by the total.

is there a setting to remove it from the mobile app? or will this feature be modified in a future revision of the app"?

I recognize you're having a discrepancy between the desktop and mobile versions of QuickBooks Online (QBO) regarding how tip amounts are displayed on estimates, contact-esne. I'm here to ensure a consistent experience across all QBO platforms.

We can take some troubleshooting measures to resolve any issues you're currently experiencing with your QuickBooks mobile apps. Let's begin by resetting the app data to clear its cache. This will help remove any excessive cache that has accumulated in your QBO. Also, this refreshes the app and clears any corrupted data that could be causing problems.

Here's how:

For iOs devices:

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select Reset App Data.
  3. Click OK.

For Android devices:

  1. In your QBO mobile app, select the Gear icon.
  2. Choose the Refresh Data menu.
  3. Click Yes.

After that, log back in and check if the tips are no longer showing up when using the mobile app.

If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. This way, they can investigate further to determine the underlying cause.

Let me share this article on how to reach out to them: QuickBooks Online Support.

I'm also including these articles about recording tips/gratuities in QBO:
