Buy nowHi so I started quickbooks later in the year and we have been selling on ebay since January I have ebay integrated into quickbooks now but it only went back as far as September. I wasn't tracking my sales previously so I have to go off of ebays reports but I need to get everything inputted from January to August so I will have all my accounts and reports together before tax time. My question is what is the best way to input all this information. There are a lot of sales. And all my payouts aren't linked in here either because we were using our personal checking account until we got our LLC and opened the business account and then opened quickbooks. I really am still trying to figure all this out so I am not sure how I am supposed to record this information. Thank you for any help you may have. Oh also my sales aren't coming in as sales receipts with the onesaas integration I could set it up that way but it was confusing so its all coming in under my payouts and it itemizes my sales and fees there so they show up in reports but I have no sales reciepts in my QBO
The issue is that QB is perpetual, anything you enter, now or in the past, affects the balances of the accounts now. So entering historical sales, deposits, expenses etc are not something you can do easily, if at all.
This year the best thing you can do it get the sales data from ebay for the years transactions that are not in QBO and add the QBO transactions when preparing for the end of year taxes.
LLC is not a business type, an LLC just protects your personal assets in the event a court judgment goes against the business. You are either a sole proprietor, a partnership registered with the state and feds, or a C- or S-corporation also registered. Those are the only selections possible when filing taxes.
Whether you keep sales receipts in QB or leave them at ebay is a personal choice, what matters is the income and expenses post in QB.
