How to review previous journal entries

I want to make certain I didn't accidentally make a journal entry to the wrong account (since it doesn't show on the correct account).  I don't know which account I might have accidentally entered.  How do I go back and find previous journal entries to determine whether I made that error?

How to review previous journal entries

Hi there, manager.

I'll show you how to access your previously entered Journal Entries in QuickBooks Online.

To review previous Journal Entries in QuickBooks Online, we can utilize the Audit Log report. It provides a comprehensive record of all activities and changes made within your QuickBooks Online account, including Journal Entries.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear ⚙ icon and select Audit Log.
  2. Use the fields on the Filter panel to choose the appropriate UserDate, or Events filter to narrow the results.
  3. In the Events filter, select All transactions.
  4. To open the transaction journal, click on the hyperlinked text for the Journal entry.

I've also added this article as a future reference about the Audit log report: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online.
