I do not see an income account when setting up my chart of accounts

Hi there, ismaelct147-yaho.

I'll share with you the steps on how to create an income account. Here's how:

  1. Go back to your Chart of Chart of Accounts.
  2. Click New at the right-hand corner.
  3. Go to the drop-down list Account Type, then select Income. It's located right in the middle of the list.
  4. Select a Detail Type
  5. Enter all other details of the account.
  6. Click Save and close.

Just in case you can't still see it, I'll share another set of steps to check if a browser issue is hiding the income account.

Start by using an incognito/private browsing session or a different browser. Use these keyboard shortcuts to quickly open an incognito session, depending on the browser that you're using:

  • Ctrl Shift N  for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl Shift P for Firefox
  • Control Option +if you're using Safari
  • Ctrl Shift P for Microsoft Edge

Then, go back to the Chart of Accounts and check if you can already see the income account. If you can see it, follow the steps in this article to delete your browsing history: Clear Cache And Cookies To Fix Issues When Using QuickBooks Online.

I'd also like to share a couple more articles that can serve as your guide in your future tasks:
