Hello, hoff2267. I've got some information regarding what the status means "inAgency" after filling out the 1099s.

When you see the "In Agency" status in your filing, the agency has received your submission and is reviewing your 1099 filing. This status is not specific to QuickBooks or the IRS and can vary depending on the state or local agency's processing times. During this stage, the agency may thoroughly review your filing to ensure it is accurate and complete.

They may also verify information such as names, addresses, and identification numbers. The duration of this status can differ depending on the specific agency's workload and the complexity of your filing. Sometimes, it may take a few days to resolve, while it may take longer in other situations.

However, the good news is that this doesn't affect the deadlines for filing or distributing forms to recipients, as the IRS and state tax agencies set those.

Once the status changes to Accepted or Processed, the agency successfully receives and reviews your submission. This is a positive sign that your filing has been successfully received and is being processed accordingly.
